BANGERS4BEN is an event organised by Car Dealer Magazine and motor industry charity BEN to raise much needed funds.
26 teams of two will be driving up and down the country on November 9, 10 and 11 in cars they bought for no more than £250.
Participants include main dealers from across the UK, independent dealers, car manufacturers including Hyundai, Honda and Toyota as well as many suppliers to the motor trade.
The event starts at BEN’s Ascot headquarters on Monday November 9 and heads to Inverness.
Day two sees the teams travel from Inverness to John O’Groats and then back down to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
And on the final day, teams head to Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands for a few laps of the track and the finish line.
Once the rally has been completed, all the cars are entered into a special auction at British Car Auction’s Blackbushe site. This takes place on Wednesday, November 18.
CHARITY CHALLENGE
ALL the money raised will be handed over to BEN after the auction.
BEN is the automotive industry charity, providing care and support to employees and their dependants in times of need.
‘We’re here to offer practical, emotional and financial support to anyone who works or has worked in the automotive industry, as well as their dependents,’ says the charity.
‘At the moment, we provide assistance to more than 15,000 people for a wide range of issues.’
The charity is a hugely worthwhile cause and the 26 cars you may see driving up and down the country are all raising money for the cause.
If you want to leave us – or any of the teams – a message of support you can do so on any of the posts on this website.
You can also follow the rally’s developments in our dedicated Bangers4BEN section on this website or follow the Twitter feed from all the participants here.
