Autoguard Warranties gains foothold in heavy trucks market

Time 10:00 am, June 23, 2016

AUTOGUARD Warranties, a leading provider of warranty and insurance products and services to independent and franchised dealers, has recently acquired Fleetband Warranty Services, specialists in vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.

This deal secures Autoguard Warranties a significant foothold in the heavy trucks market as Fleetband is a top three provider.

Since Autoguard Warranties’ launch in 2009, the firm has experienced tremendous growth, with turnover increasing by 25 per cent year on year.

Robert Dockerill, CEO of Autoguard Warranties, said: ‘Our acquisition of Fleetband was the result of numerous requests we received from commercial vehicle dealers wanting warranty programmes for trucks over 3.5 tonnes.

‘We investigated this and found there was a gap in the market. We discovered that there were only a small number of warranty products being sold each year to HGV, truck fleets and independent owners.

‘The haulage market is a very different market from passenger vehicles and we will be listening to dealers, so that we can tailor products to suit their needs.’

Paul Gilbert, franchised service manager, commercial vehicles at the Hendy Group, which has 19 dealerships in the south of England, comments: ‘Thanks to Fleetband, we are able to give our customers seamless cover and peace of mind, as any vehicle problems that fall under the warranty, are administered by the dealership.

‘It’s essential that we have fast and efficient claims processing as every minute that commercial vehicles are off the road, costs money. We are in the business of keeping our customers moving and Fleetband helps us get vehicles back on the road, quickly and efficiently.’
