Paris Motor Show 2016 – LIVE UPDATES

17:00 – So, after nine hours of new cars and fantastic looking concepts, our live coverage of the Paris Motor Show is over. But you can stay up to date with the latest news from the French capital on the Car Dealer website, with the latest news, reviews and interviews.

16:46 – MINI has unveiled the new Clubman John Cooper Works, which looks brilliant in dark green with red detailing. Nice work!


16:35 – DS were on hand today to both show off their stylish models, but also launch their new service, ‘Only You’, which provides customers with DS-only service options.

16:30 – The guys at SuperUnleaded have put a piece together on some of the highlights from Paris. We’ll give you the Trezor as a freebee (because it looks amazing)!

16:15 – Here’s the full view of Ssangyong’s LIV-2 SUV concept. Looks quite stylish…


16:13 – Opel has released its second car of the day, with the small crossover, the Karl Rocks. Probably a challenger for the Suzuki Ignis we saw earlier.

16:01 – Here’s a closer look at the Ferrari stand, and the special edition liveries on show. We are big fans of them all.

15:51 – Actor of stage and screen Nicholas Hoult helped present the Jaguar XF AWD earlier today, and he looks pretty happy with himself.

15:44 – Alongside the new Q5 and A5/S5 Sportback, Audi also revealed their new RS3, which is the company’s first compact saloon with the RS moniker.

14:38 – More news from the Mercedes press event from last night, as they revealed they are working on a Formula One-inspired hypercar. This has a very similar feel to the Aston Martin-Red Bull announcement of a couple of months ago.

14:35 – More from the Carlos Ghosn presentation, as the Renault-Nissan CEO has his say on the UK’s departure from the EU.

14:32 – Mercedes-AMG premiered its GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé (mouthful) in Paris, and this model will have a biturbocharged V6 producing 367hp.

14:20 – With the Dakar Rally only a few weeks away, Peugeot put their challenger on show, the 3008. And it looks brutal, but as an off-roader, absolutely exquisite.

14:15 – Jack is currently listening in on Renault-Nissan’s Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn’s presentation about the alliance’s future.

14:12 – Renault has been displaying plenty of models today, and one of those is new Clio RS16 concept. Looks great, but can’t be unleashed to Renault’s dismay.

14:02 – And here is that Panamera in full. Looks good!

14:01 – The Vine in this tweet from Porsche shows all the lime green detailing of its new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid that also appeared on the 918 hypercar. Groovy!

13:56 – A lot of racing car news coming out of Paris, with Audi now releasing details and images of its new RS 3 LMS. It will be used in sports car racing from next year.

13:49 – Here’s a closer look at Lexus’s new UX crossover concept. Certainly looks impressive.

13:44 – The Paris Motor Show isn’t just today, it runs until October 16th, giving everyone a chance to go and see the great cars that the manufacturers have to offer.

Slap bang in the middle on October 8th will be a classic car auction, with some of the most sought-after models involved. Check out the full listing in the tweet below.

13:35 – Porsche has given its new GT3 Cup racer pride of place on its display. The new model will have 485hp. Nice!

13:27 – Here is Becca’s piece on the new Nissan Micra, where she spoke to the model’s product manager Martin Boutard about the possibility of a Nismo version.

Paris Motor Show: Nissan could bring Micra Nismo to UK

13:20 – Suzuki announced the welcome return of the Ignis SUV to the UK. After being released in Japan earlier this year, the small crossover will be on its way to European shores in 2017.

13:14 – Porsche is revealing the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid imminently and we will bring you pictures as soon as we get them.

13:04 – Audi is currently showing off the latest in the brand’s range, and the big reveal is the new Q5. Billed for 2018, it will have the new quattro system and air suspension.

The German company also revealed the new A5 and S5 Sportbacks.

12:52 – Opel released pictures of their new AMPERAe earlier this month, and this morning showed off their new EV in the flesh. In bright yellow! It’s certainly bright. The model will have a range of over 300 miles.

12:40 – Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla are in Paris, and Jack has spotted a new feature on the Model X…

12:37 – Lexus has released a picture of their new Lexus UX concept. A live feed of the full reveal is in the tweet below.

12:33 – There’s a lot of development in the WRC world today, as Toyota have announced Microsoft as a partner for their Gazoo Racing team.

12:08 – BMW has released pictures of its X2 concept. It has coupé styling and looks great.

12:05 – Dacia has revealed its new Duster SUV, this time coming with an automatic transmission.

11:58 – Our hosts at Mondial de l’Auto have posted a picture of Infiniti’s new QX Sport concept from their presentation. Also displayed was the company’s new Variable Compression turbo, which could improve fuel economy by 25 per cent and will be in Infiniti models by 2018.

11:53 – It’s not only cars on show in Paris, we have some design concepts too. And here’s one of them: the Lexus Kinetic Seat Concept…

11:50 – Citroen is displaying its new C3 this time around. It looks a little larger than last time.

11:48 – The new 5008 is on Peugeot’s stand for the event, and with plenty of other SUVs on offer at the show it has a lot of competition.

11:44 – If Ferrari Red isn’t quite your thing, the Italians have decked out the new 488 Spider in Jewel Green, with Kyalami Gold rims. There’s a lot of love for it from us here. It looks superb!

11:39 – Twitter user Ryan Bubear has taken an alternative look at this year’s event by looking at the best back ends on this year’s display cars. Personal favourite is the Trezor. It looks epic.

11:35 – BMW will be revealing a new model in the next 10 minutes when its press conference begins. We’ll give you any updates as and when they happen. If you want to watch the event, click on the live link in the tweet.

11:30 – Jack is now racing around, giving us a look at the Peugeot Fractal concept. Looks very funky.

11:25 – Jack Evans is also out in France for us and he’s taken a closer look at Skoda’s Kodiaq. As the company’s first true SUV, this is a pretty important car at this year’s show.

11:20 – Hyundai has been very busy today, and is displaying its new RN30 hot hatchback. Based on the i30, it is only a concept at the moment, but it looks great!

11:15 – James has had a closer look at the Mercedes-Maybach Concept 6. It’s striking from every angle. And very red.

11:12 – Toyota’s Prius Plug-in has been revealed today. The hybrid model makes its debut in Europe before it goes on sale next year.

11:00 – Porsche is unveiling its latest Panamera coupé at 1.15pm BST and we’ll have pictures of it as soon as they’re released.

10:53 – Citroen has shown off the Cxperience concept, with suicide door to boot.

10:46 – Mercedes has put on a keynote speech to display its new electric-powered concept, the Generation EQ. The SUV was shown off by Dr Dieter Zetsche, Daimler AG’s chairman.

10:42 – As well as its Trezor concept, Renault has shown off its new Zoe. The updated EV will have a range of more than 400km.

10:40 – Abarth has put on a good display at this year’s show, with the new 124 Abarth Spyder leading the line.

10:36 – Citroen has shown off its new C3 WRC car for next season. It does look rather good.

10:33 – Last night, Bugatti displayed its Chiron hypercar before Volkswagen Group’s evening event to preview today’s new models. Six months after its reveal, it still makes your jaw drop.

10:25 – Smart is making a little bit of history at Paris this year. It will be the first company to offer electric-powered vehicles across its entire range.

10:23 – SsangYong is lifting the covers of its new LIV-2 concept in the hour. It will give us an idea of the next-generation Rexton.

10:17 – Here are some more of the Formula E cars on display, including the new Renault e.dams Racing model and the DS Performance effort for the 2016/17 season.

10:10 – Lexus has been showing off its latest hybrid model, the LC 500h sports coupé. It’ll be released in the UK next spring.

10:05 – Jaguar Land Rover is also showing off its new Formula E challenger for the upcoming season. The Panasonic Jaguar Racing team are entering their first campaign in the sport.

09:55 – The hatchback theme continues as Kia has also revealed its new Rio. James likes it a lot.

09:47 – Nissan displays the latest generation of the Micra. The fifth generation of the hatchback will have plenty of options to choose from, as shown in these pictures from Rebecca Chaplin.

09:40 – It’s not only supercars on show at Paris, we’re covering the whole lot, including the new Hyundai i10.

The new supermini is joined by the South Korean manufacturer’s new i30 and the 2017 i20 World Rally Championship challenger.

09:20 – Ferrari’s replacement for the FF, the GTC4Lusso T, has been revealed at Paris today. The shooting break model will have rear-wheel steering and a turbo-charged V8 that will replace the current V12.

09:00 – Last night Mercedes-AMG unveiled its GT and GT C Roadsters in the flesh. The soft-top models will be on sale in early 2017.

08:50 – Ferrari has exhibited the latest version of the LaFerrari hypercar, the LaFerrari Aperta. The roofless model has the same hybrid power unit as the coupé. Only 209 will be built.

08:35 – At its home event, Renault has gone all out with its new concept, the Trezor. The sports coupé looks impressive to say the least.

08:25 – Toyota’s new C-HR crossover is also on show.

The Japanese manufacturer has revealed an innovative concept at Paris, with the new FCV Plus making its first appearance.

08:15 – Skoda’s new SUV, the Kodiaq, is being displayed to the public for the first time during the next two weeks and James has had a look.

08:10 – Volkswagen has shown off its latest concept, the I.D. This fully electric vehicle is built to have a range of more than 370 miles and is due to be in production by 2020.

08:05 – James Baggott is already on location and has had a look at the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV and Honda Civic Type R concepts.

08:00 – Good morning! We have live coverage of the 2016 Paris Motor Show press day, where we will get to see the latest models and concepts the motoring world has to offer.

We’ll be posting the newest models as soon as they are revealed, with Car Dealer’s finest live at the event providing us with the hottest gossip and pictures.
