EX-RACING driver Zak Brown will be taking the helm of running McLaren after Ron Dennis was ousted last week.
According to Sky News, Brown has signed a deal to take on a senior executive role at the team. It was previously rumoured that he would take on a position at McLaren or with F1’s parent company.
Sky News also reported that sources close to F1’s commercial rights-holder said that Brown had informed them that he had chosen the role at McLaren this weekend, with an announcement likely to be made today.
Brown is an American businessman and owns motor sport agency JMI (Just Marketing International). In the past he ran the sports marketing division at privately-§owned media and PR company Chime Communications.
He has had a long career racing in various series, including British Formula 3, the World Endurance Championship and British GT.
