CITNOW has announced the shortlist of the automotive industry’s best video presenters ahead of its 2018 awards ceremony.
Franchised and independent dealers from both the UK and abroad have submitted 948 entries in the form of personalised video presentations.
There are awards up for grabs in categories such as the workshop, sales, overseas and most creative, as well as a prize for the overall winner.
There are even a number of cases where different sites of the same retailers will be going head-to-head. For example, TrustFord Belfast and TrustFord Tamworth will be competing for the workshop category.
Dealer group Lookers is very much one of the contestants to beat, with four of its outlets having been nominated in sales, workshop and creativity, thanks to the firm’s work with brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Seat and Nissan.
Alexander’s Prestige is up for the sales category, while two Renault dealerships are facing off to see which is more creative.
As CitNOW’s platform has been growing in Europe, the opportunity for overseas entries has grown, with more than 120 from foreign competitors in 2018. Mercedes-Benz dealers appear to be leading this charge, with its Madrid and Cork outlets finding their way on to the shortlist.
The awards ceremony, which will take place on July 11 at the BAFTA Academy in London, will see entrants scrutinised by a panel of judges, made up of Steve Nash, CEO of the Institute of the Motor Industry, Jeremy Bennett, associate editor of AM, and Sabrina Hegarty, managing director of Calibre Group Solutions.
Alistair Horsburgh, CEO of CitNOW, commented: ‘Once again, we’ve been overwhelmed with both the quality and quantity of the video entries we’ve received.
‘Our expert judging panel have cast an eagle eye over the shortlisted entries, and all have been hugely impressed by the standards of videos being delivered through our Workshop and Sales platforms.
‘Each year, we see CitNOW video nominations from retailers which demonstrate refreshing innovation underpinned by excellent best-practice. But this year, the quality of videos was outstanding, showing just how far dealerships have come in embracing the technology for the benefit of both customers and businesses.’
