Cap HPI to launch WLTP solution

Time 10:07 am, August 2, 2018

AUTOMOTIVE technology company Cap HPI is launching a WLTP tool for its new vehicle data users.

The company has worked alongside manufacturers, importers and representative bodies to develop the flexible, industry-wide solution, which will be trialled extensively in August before being fully rolled out in September.

The system will provide a span of the minimum and maximum values in the standard new vehicle data, alongside full WLTP data for manufacturers who have sufficiently simplified vehicle options and offer a real-time API to support specific vehicle configurations for those manufacturers requiring it.

The solution will work across all different manufacturer platforms. However, it will take time for all of the data to become available, as manufacturers are taking a varying range of approaches to WLTP.

Beth Davies, product manager at Cap HPI, said: ‘Our solution has been designed after consulting with our customers and all manufacturers. We believe this will meet consumer and business needs and our release plans will enable our customers to hit timelines.

‘WLTP is a crucial industry-wide change and we are working across the automotive supply chain to ensure we have a robust platform in place. We are building an agile solution that can meet the differing demands of manufacturers and data users.

‘We continue to make our experts available to advise at every step of this process, and we are creating a portal to allow customers to access the latest crucial information from us about the WLTP solution and its implementation.’

WLTP – Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure – is a new method of testing cars on their fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, pollutant emissions and energy consumption. All manufacturers are required to comply with these regulations under EU law.
