VOLVO CAR UK has made Mark Cox national sales manager with immediate effect.
He takes responsibility for the management of the regional sales team for retail sales performance and will also be the first line of communication with Volvo’s retail network.
Cox, pictured, joins Volvo with a wealth of experience, having worked with the VW Group of companies for the past 18 years. He has held numerous business improvement, area and regional sales management roles, with responsibility for retail, fleet and business sales. His most recent role was as national network development manager, where he was responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining the franchise representation strategy for Volkswagen in the UK.
He said: ‘I am extremely excited by the opportunity at Volvo. It’s an incredible brand, with fantastic products and an excellent retail network. Last year, Volvo recorded its highest UK sales for 28 years, and I can’t wait to help make this year and beyond even more successful.’

Volvo sold 50,319 new cars in the UK in 2018 – a growth of nine per cent on 2017, against an overall market down seven per cent. Volvo posted a market share of 2.13 per cent in 2018, up from 1.82 per cent the year before, making it the fastest-growing premium car brand in the UK. The positive momentum has continued into 2019, with Volvo’s January sales up 80 per cent year-on-year – rising from 2,270 to 4,079 – in a market down by nearly two per cent.
