7e0ad7c3-5093-45b2-82fc-bcb9bb27577fFORD has finally revealed pictures of its eagerly-anticipated next generation Mondeo.

The Blue Oval has picked the Detroit Motor Show as the venue to reveal the new car which is called Fusion in the USA.

Full details of the Fusion have been revealed for motor show goers, but the UK will have to wait to hear what it can expect from the Mondeo which is slated for launch in quarter one 2013.

What we do know, however, is that it’s the latest car out of the firm’s ‘One Ford’ programme. Like the Focus, the Mondeo is suitable for a variety of worldwide markets.

‘Our vision for Fusion was clear – deliver the very best of what ‘One Ford’ stands for,’ said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president of global product development. ‘We brought our global teams together around a blank slate with the charge to develop a midsize car with ground-breaking design and jaw-dropping fuel economy – one that featured technologies to help make our customers safer and better drivers. This car is the result.’

The new car has been revealed in Detroit in S, SE and Titanium trims. Ford of Britain has not confirmed the Mondeo will have these trims, but it is likely.
