THE family-run group Barlow Motors has completed the acquisition of Robert Eardley Skoda in Crewe and Stoke.
After many years working with Skoda, Robert Eardley has decided to sell the business and retire. New owners Barlow Motors also operates Seat franchises in Wolverhampton and Stoke.
Mark Owen, Barlow’s managing director, said: ‘The two Robert Eardley businesses fit ideally with our current dealerships and also expand our relationship with the Volkswagen Group. We are looking forward to welcoming the Robert Eardley team into the group and driving the businesses forward.’
The deal between Robert Eardley and Barlow Motors was brokered by David Kendrick through ASE’s Dealermatch service.
Meanwhile, the opening of Arnold Clark Skoda at Phoenix Retail Park, Paisley, Scotland, has seen at least 22 new jobs created and will provide a much-needed boost to the local economy.
General manager David Ewart said: ‘We’re extremely excited about bringing Skoda to the area. Skoda has had an amazing year, and we’re certain this new franchise will be a fantastic investment for Arnold Clark and for the area.
‘We see ourselves as a local business, so we truly feel that our success means success for the community too.’
The dealership will operate as a triple franchise, with a nine-car showroom and room for 130 used cars on site.
