THE Royal Highland Show has yet again proved a big success for the Mitsubishi dealerships at the event, as 180,000 people made their way through the gates.
The busy four-day show at Ingliston came to an end on Sunday with the number of visitors up 8,000 on last year.
The crowds flocked to see the trade stands and 5,000 animals, including sheep, cattle, poultry and horses. Organisers hailed the show as a boost for the Scottish economy.
Alister Scott, dealer principal at Adam Purves Mitsubishi in Galashiels, said: ‘As a dealer group we’re delighted that Mitsubishi put this together for us. The efforts the events team put in to bring this altogether are phenomenal. This is my fifteenth year at the show and it’s always a great few days.’
Graham Walker, dealer principal at Fife Mitsubishi, who has just enjoyed his seventeenth year at the show, said: ‘I always enjoy the show. It’s the best week of the year for us, from a business point of view. I’m a great believer in taking the showroom to the people, rather than waiting for people to come to us and the Royal Highland Show is ideal, especially when we get the good weather.’
The sun was shinning as the Mitsubishi stand enjoyed a busy four days, with the new Outlander PHEV attracting a lot of attention in particular. Along with Belmont Mitsubishi Wallyford and Border Cars, Ayr, there were six Mitsubishi dealerships at the event.
Michael Deans, Sales Manager at Tweedmouth Service Station, added: ‘This is the most important show of the year for us. We have been doing it ever since Mitsubishi started supporting it and I do four days here every year and it’s great.
‘We have built up customers from here that are on their third or fourth vehicle with us. The support we get from the Mitsubishi events team is fantastic.’
