MOTORPOINT in Derby defied the Easter car sales slump and delivered almost 90 cars on the Friday bank holiday alone.
The car supermarket saw its busiest day for some time as customers flocked to the Derby site to pick up their new vehicles. In a huge team effort, employees worked from early in the morning to well past 7pm to ensure the handover of vehicles was complete.
Friday saw a wide range of vehicles finding new homes and popular choices on the day were the BMW 3 series and the Fiat 500.
David Shelton, managing director of Motorpoint, said: ‘This was all in a day’s work for our team, their attitude and determination to go the extra mile to get a job done is the reason for our success. During the start of the recession in 2008 we were one of the few car companies to see an increase in sales and we’re all delighted to now break a trend like the infamous Easter car sales slump.’
