Buyers will also have the opportunity to offer vehicles for sale between Christmas and new year via the auction house’s digital channels using BCA Appraise, Value and Sell tools.

All vehicles available from BCA over the Christmas period will be offered with a simple ‘click to buy’ process enabling retailers to access new stock and meet the needs of customers over the holiday season.

Stock from a range of major blue chip vendors will be on offer and all vehicles will be appraised, graded and include digital imagery, while others will be offered with the benefit of a BCA Assured inspection.

Dealers can sell any non-retail part-exchanges throughout the period using BCA’s digital tools and will be able to automatically send vehicle details, including appraisal report and images, to BCA for remarketing in one of its regular online-only sales.

The dealer can even retain the vehicle on the forecourt by consigning it to an ‘offsite’ sale. BCA will remarket the vehicle online while the dealer retains the vehicle for possible retail, avoiding unnecessary logistics costs and improving the time to sale.

Simon Henstock, BCA’s UK operations director, said: ‘Sourcing good retail stock has been a real challenge for professional buyers in recent months and anecdotally many dealers have told us they have struggled to maintain an adequate supply of vehicles to meet the needs of their retail customers.’

He added: ‘With the signs of economic recovery now having a very positive effect on both new and used car sales, dealers will welcome this access to a fresh supply of good quality, attractive stock available over the Christmas period. Our customers tell us they want to buy and sell used vehicles online 24/7, 365 days a year to gain an edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace and BCA’s digital channels are making it easier for our customers to do just that.’
