Cambria buys County Motor Works

Time 12:50 pm, February 1, 2013

CAMBRIA has added three new franchises to its portfolio, after acquiring County Motor Works.

Based in Chelmsford, Essex, the dealer has franchises for both Vauxhall, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler-Jeep – all now feathers in Cambria’s cap.

Cambria says that the acquisition puts them closer to having Vauxhall and Alfa Romeo as primary brand partners, with the recent completion of the integration and refurbishment of Doves Vauxhall Southampton marking the PLC’s first foray into the brand.

‘We are delighted to have acquired County Motor Works, said Mark Lavery, chief executive of Cambria, ‘and continue to work alongside Vauxhall, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler-Jeep to identify opportunities to extend our partnership in line with our buy and build strategy.

‘We have now completed 9 acquisitions since we formed the group in 2006 and represent 16 brands across 42 franchised outlets representing a balanced portfolio with a strong mix of prestige / high luxury and volume businesses.’
