Screen shot 2013-10-01 at 16.55.27A CAR salesman in Walthamstow has been fined more than £1,000 for misleading his customers over the quality of used cars.

Adnan Khalid, director of Bluegate Cars Ltd, is alleged to have sold a car in September last year on the terms that it was a ‘perfect family car’ that ‘would give very good service’.

However, the used dealer had also included fine print in the vehicle’s sale invoice, which stated the vehicle was not fit for purpose, according to the Waltham Forest Guardian.

Trading Standards officers conducted a criminal investigation into Khalid after the buyer reported the purchase.

Khalid pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates’ Court to making false representations at his dealership and misrepresenting a warranty.

He was fined £1,050 and ordered to pay £750 in costs. Khalid was also instructed to pay the customer £622.87 in compensation.
