02.07.10: Editor driving Lexus LFA at Goodwood

Time 7:27 am, July 2, 2010

59571lexIF you’re heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday keep your eye on the track around 1pm.

That’s when I’ll be attempting to guide this monster up the hill climb – the Lexus LFA!

My run is due between 12.45pm and 1.30pm and the bad news is it looks like rain…

The 552bhp, 4.8-litre machine is capable of hitting a top speed of more than 200mph and cracking 60mph in just 3.7 seconds.

I’ll just be trying to keep it out of the infamous flint wall…

I do NOT want to be known as the numpty who stacked one of 500 LFAs on the Goodwood hill climb in front of thousands of people…

In the morning we’ll be moping around the supercar paddock with a photographer and lights so you won’t be able to miss us if you’re there – if you are come and say hello!

And check back on the site over the weekend because if all goes to plan they’ll be a video of the drive and a report in the main news channel on the homepage from sometime Saturday.

Wish me luck… I’m going to need it. Right, just off to find some panty liners for my hands – for some reason they won’t stop sweating!
