Harratts’ celebrations

harratts_volvoHARRATTS Motor Group is celebrating after being confirmed as Volvo’s second largest new car seller in 2010.

The family-run motor group increased sales of the Swedish marque by 13 per cent during 2010, and nearly doubled the Volvo national average sales increase of eight per cent, selling 2,398 cars.

Harratts, which began selling Volvo from just one dealership in Wakefield in 1985 has steadily risen up the ranks of top independent vendors for the prestige manufacturer, and these latest figures cap what has been a year of expansion for the motor group.

Shaun Harratt, managing director of Harratts, said: ‘We are thrilled by these latest results in a very difficult UK marketplace and especially pleased that we have maintained our position as the second biggest Volvo vendor in the UK by volume.

‘In spite of nearly stagnant sales in the car industry, we have not only defied the gloom but surpassed Volvo’s average sales increase for the UK by a considerable margin. Our success is due to our fantastic team and I would like to thank them for showing exceptional hard work and dedication over the past year.
