Time 4:35 am, November 3, 2016

MOTORISTS are increasingly turning to the web to speed up their search for reputable local garages offering good deals on servicing and repairs, according to new findings.

The research from MyCarNeedsA.com, the price comparison site where service providers quote for MOT, servicing and repair work, shows that there has been a surge in motorists going online to source the best deals from a wide range of local service providers.

Over the last 12 months, MyCarNeedsA.com has seen a massive 84 per cent increase in servicing and MOT jobs, with a greater take-up of maintenance work, such as brakes, timing belts and tyres.

MyCarNeedsA.com has also reported a 76 per cent increase in unique visitors, year on year.  Scott Hamilton, managing director of MyCarNeedsA.com, said: ‘More and more consumers are using websites like ours to save time, money and hassle when booking their cars in for maintenance and repair, whether it’s brakes, bulbs, clutches, cambelts or regular servicing.

‘It is estimated that motorists spend a collective £21.1 billion a year on servicing and repair and the online comparison market is growing rapidly. There is a huge opportunity for MOT and servicing providers to boost their income by extending their reach online, by partnering with us.’

MyCarNeedsA.com now works with more than 4,000 garage and workshop partners nationwide. Only authorised repairers provide quotes for work after a thorough vetting process and genuine parts are used on all customer vehicles.

Service books are stamped with manufacturer warranty protection and MyCarNeedsA.com provides a 12-month guarantee on all parts and labour.
