CAR supermarket Motorpoint is definitely feeling in the pink after raising more than £4k for Breast Cancer Care.
The firm’s 350 plus colleagues across its five sites turned out in force to support ‘Pink Friday’ with activities including wearing pink fancy dress, raffles, sale of pink cupcakes and some staff even indulging in a ‘Pin the Bra’ poster game!
Motorpoint’s sites in Peterborough, Derby, Glasgow, Newport and Burnley, as well its customer service call centre, all embraced the day helping to raise more than £4k,which was double the amount raised in 2010.
David Shelton, managing director, Motorpoint, said: ‘We’d like to thank everyone who supported our Pink Friday event and gave generously to raise such an amazing amount for a very good cause.
‘We wanted to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care by holding a Pink Friday as we really enjoyed last year’s event and think the charity does some fantastic work. Holding a Pink Friday event is a fun way of supporting a worthwhile charity that helps thousands of people every year.’
Breast Cancer Care ambassador, Lisa Snowdon, said: ‘I’ve been an ambassador for Breast Cancer Care for nearly seven years now and I’m so excited about hosting my own Pink Friday this October. It’s the best excuse ever to get my girlies together for a laugh and a chat while knowing we are making a real difference.
‘Did you know that every day in the UK more than 130 people are diagnosed with breast cancer? Holding a Pink Friday pamper party or selling some pink cupcakes (my personal favourites!) in your office, you will help to ensure Breast Cancer Care can be there for each and every one of them.’
