NEARLY new car sales have experienced a ‘massive rise’, reports a car supermarket.
Motorpoint says sales of nearly new models rose by 30 per cent in October.
The company says this is through customers switching from brand-new models to discounted nearly new ones.
Sales of new cars at Motorpoint in the same period represented only 7 per cent of total volume.
25 08-plate Vauxhall Vectras were sold by the company in as many minutes, it says. At £5999, the price represented £10,000 off a new car.
David Shelton, MD of Motorpoint, said: ‘It is clear from our latest figures that consumers are voting with their wallets, especially during the credit crunch.’
