CAR DEALER has invested in new dedicated servers to cope with the demand for its popular new iPad App.

Following the launch of our digital edition for the iPad last Friday, demand on the existing servers holding the digital editions has been so high that it has struggled to cope.

In the first two days of the iPad App launching on the iTunes store, 600 people downloaded the App – and demand has been consistently high ever since.

The Car Dealer Magazine App is free of charge to download – and unusually all issues of the magazine are free to download too.

‘We underestimated just how popular our App was going to be,’ explained editorial director James Baggott. ‘We promoted the App via Twitter and with a press release and were shocked at the numbers that downloaded it in the first two days. We could only get data from Apple on the first 48 hours, but 600 downloads was more than we expected.

‘Some people had problems downloading magazine issues once they’d installed the App and this was because so many people were trying to do the same thing at the same time.

‘This new dedicated server will only be used to facilitate the App downloads and our web experts have assured us the new one will cope.’

You can download the App from the iTunes store by clicking here.
