aef935d7-652b-46a1-94b4-72f32b403c17 NISSAN has released full details and images of its much-anticipated new Qashqai.

The previous model was Britain’s most popular SUV and Nissan hopes its successor will build upon the car’s popularity thanks to new technology and features.

The new Qashqai will come with a raft of new tech such as Nissan’s new Safety Shield package, Chassis Control, full LED headlamps, Intelligent Parking Assist and a new version of NissanConnect with smartphone app integration.

Customers will be able to choose from two petrol units – a dinky 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and a turbocharged 1.6 – and two diesels in the shape of 1.5- and 1.6-litres.

As with the previous model, the new Qashqai will be built in Nissan’s Sunderland factory on a three-shift pattern. But unlike the old car, the new one will only be available as a five-door model.
