#RTOTY11: Four out of seven have arrived

11I HAD a strange dream last night that someone left a Porsche 911 on my drive and posted the keys through my letterbox.

But this time it wasn’t a beer-induced dream, it was true. Sat outside when I woke up this morning was this black GTS Cabriolet – and lying on the doormat was the key.

Delivery – by low loader – happened pre-6am when I was in the land of nod. But it sure beats waking up and finding a present from @CarDealerDog on the mat…

Shortly afterwards two more of our Road Test of the Year cars arrived. Both from BMW – a 1M Coupe in the orange I was praying it would come in and a Mini Cooper SD. Yeah, the one that Batch is going to be piloting all week.

Yesterday the RS3 arrived. I’ve already had a chance to give that one a spin and it sounds incredible. I can also report it’s very good at getting 9-month-olds to sleep. Something to do with the hard ride, I’m sure.

Later today the four will become five when Caterham deliver an R400. And then on Monday the big guns get collected when we head to Ferrari and Aston Martin HQ to pick up the 458 and Virage.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on the website over the weekend as we’ll be posting more blogs as we make our way to North Wales for this year’s #RTOTY11 base.

And you can follow the editor for updates on Twitter here. Right, time to do some proper work before the fun begins…
