YOU may have noticed that the Car Dealer team is allowed to escape from the office from time to time. We’re usually off testing the industry’s latest wheels or visiting our loyal readers at their dealerships. However, on this occasion, our boss James Baggott decided some real life work experience was in order.
With that in mind, and to celebrate our 100th issue, we headed in convoy to BCA, Blackbushe, to see how one of the UK’s leading auction houses sells thousands of cars from the Surrey site everyday. More than that, we lent a helping hand – or at least attempted to – in trying to sell 100 cars in 100 minutes.
Features editor Sophie Williamson-Stothert was put to work assessing the cars, senior staff writer Andrew Evans was allocated to cleaning duties, while staff writer Jack Evans drove the cars into the halls as they went under the hammer.
CEO and publisher of Car Dealer Magazine Baggott couldn’t miss out on the action and delegated himself the role of assisting on the rostrum – whether or not he knew exactly what he was doing, is another question…
What’s more, you can now watch our behind the scenes video to see how the team got on, or read all about the day in our 100th issue. Don’t laugh too hard, we tried our best!
