Monday, April 23

ETERNITI Motors has used the Beijing Motor Show to show off its ‘engineering prototype’ of its Artemis super-SUV. Prices will start from around £210k.

JLR has introduced a bespoke engineering division called ETO. It’s responsible for the new ultra-luxurious Jaguar XJ Ultimate, and the new Range Rover Evoque Victoria Beckham Special Edition.


HYUNDAI has announced pricing and specification for the new i20, which will be available in showrooms on May 7. Prices for i20 start at £9,995. Read more

NISSAN’S Sunderland Plant has been awarded the Queen’s Award for continued achievement in International Trade. Read more

Tuesday, April 24

MG has shown off the Icon concept at Beijing. It’s an SUV concept that takes styling cues from the MGA and, most notably, the MGB. If the car gets a good media reaction, it could enter production.


A RECORD 12 months for family-owned Yorkshire car retailer JCT600 boosted turnover to £623m in 2011. Read more

FOUR new V8 Audi S models – the S6, S6 Avant, S7 Sportback and S8 – open for order next month. Prices start from £53,995 for the S6 and rise to £77,900 OTR for the S8.

SAAB Parts UK has welcomed the news that parts production will restart at Saab Automobile’s press and body plant in Trollhattan. Read more

RENAULT group sales fell 7.9 per cent to 638,498 units in the first quarter 2012, due to ‘a very unfavorable European market’ the firm says.

ONE of Lamborghini’s ultra-rare Reventon supercars will go under the hammer in June. It’s expected to fetch more than £1m.

Thursday, April 26

FORD of Britain MD Mark Ovenden and Essex Ford’s chairman and managing director tells us the new B-Max is a key car for dealer network. Read more

NISSAN announces its 22 High Performance Centres are braced for the most hardcore GT-R – the Track Pack version.


MOTOR Codes names the regional winners of its Garage of the Year contest. More than 13,500 members of the public took part. Read more

CHINA is likely to become JLR’s number one market – riding above the UK. Sales in the country have risen to 42,000, with JLR accounting for 20 per cent of all UK exports to China.

Friday, April 27

AUDI has given its mid-size SUV, the Q5, a subtle make-over. Revisions include styling enhancements, and efficiency and equipment gains.

PORSCHE Centre Wilmslow are setting their sights on raising money for BEN. The centre will take part in the UK Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for the automotive industry charity.

VOLKSWAGEN Group has announced sales revenue rose 26.3 per cent to €47.3bn (£38.5bn) in the first quarter of 2012.

CAR Dealer has invested in a new sever to meet download demand for its free iPad App. In the first two days of the iPad App launching on the iTunes store, 600 people downloaded the App – and demand has been consistently high ever since. Read more
