A lucky pharmacist picked up the keys to a new SsangYong Tivoli at Unity Coventry today (Aug 10) after winning a competition held to mark the European launch of the facelifted compact SUV.
People had to send in a form to say why they should win the Tivoli, and Rakesh Kumar Aggarwal secured the prize after his form was drawn at random from more than 20,000 entrants.
He said: ‘I first saw a SsangYong MPV on my neighbour’s driveway. It caught my eye and looked like the ideal car for me!
‘It seemed a good, solid vehicle, and stylish too. It was the perfect size for running around town, good for work and would fit my family comfortably.
‘I was already looking to upgrade my current car before lockdown started so I requested further information via the SsangYong website, which then gave me the option to enter the competition.
‘I’m thrilled to have won. I didn’t expect to win something like this. I sent off the application and thought nothing more of it, so to get a phone call to tell me that I’d won was really fantastic!’
Unity Coventry dealer principal Jon Mathers said: ‘We’re really pleased for Rakesh and we wish him years of happy motoring in his new Tivoli. It’s a terrific car, and it’s been a pleasure to hand the vehicle over to him today at Unity.’
SsangYong Motors UK managing director Kevin Griffin, who was also at the handover, said: ‘I’d like to congratulate Rakesh on winning the Tivoli, which perfectly meets his needs for leisure, work and his family.’
The Tivoli, whose prices start at £12,495, boasts new exterior front styling and a range of enhancements, including a new interior design paired with advanced safety and infotainment technologies, plus efficient new powertrains complying with future emission standards.
