Tonight’s the night! The biggest date in the calendar for hundreds of people – the Car Dealer Used Car Awards.
The Brewery in London will be packed to the rafters as Mike Brewer from Wheeler Dealers hosts the biggest and best awards ceremony for this sector of the motoring world.
It’s going to be some night. Once again supported by our friends at Black Horse, and by a whole host of sponsors from the industry, the ‘sold out’ signs went up ages ago.
The trophies are sorted, polished and ready to be collected by the winners; the certificates are all nicely framed and have been checked and double-checked; the brochures are piled up ready to be placed on the tables; and the menus are printed (by the way, no-one ever did reply and tell me what a donkey carrot was….)
And, more important than all of that – I found my bow tie which looks as if all the rainbows in the world have collided and made one big colourful mess. So I’m ready too…
For those who need reminding, the shortlist is reproduced again below.
Tonight there are going to be 21 delighted and proud people hugging a shiny new trophy.
There are going to be many more delighted people with highly-commended certificates.
And with a free bar, there are going to be even more people – many, many more – nursing hangovers tomorrow morning…
If you’re a winner, highly commended or on the shortlist below, you can be very proud. It has never been more difficult to be in the frame for a Used Car Award – standards this year have been higher than ever.
So get out your glad rags and we’ll see you at The Brewery tonight – and be ready to party!
