Traka Automotive launches ‘game-changing’ mechanical key solution for car dealers

Time 8:45 am, July 31, 2020

Traka Automotive is evolving its offering to car dealerships, introducing TrakaMEC as its first mechanical key-management solution, with a scaleable upgrade path built into its investment.

The UK’s number one electronic management solution provider for automotive dealers has launched TrakaMEC as a mechanical key solution, designed to meet the needs of dealerships and services centres that are not yet requiring fully networked and integrated electronic key-management systems.

Efficiency is key to success
Paul Smith, Traka Automotive director, said: ‘Latest research shows that many consumers are looking to purchase a car to limit their exposure to other members of the public and avoid public transport where possible.

‘Dealerships large and small across the UK must be running as efficiently as possible to meet demands. Clarity on vehicle condition for the consumer is critical in building this trust and confidence; car dealers need to be able to react fast.

‘TrakaMEC has been launched as a cost-effective solution to help and support those aspiring to move to an electronic system as they grow in this new working environment.’

TrakaMEC now forms part of Traka Automotive’s complete portfolio of both mechanical and electronic key-management solutions with an upgrade path built into the investment.

Paul continued: ‘Traka Automotive is already the market-leading electronic key-management solution provider amongst larger franchise and prestige dealerships brands. The launch into mechanical has been as a result of our acquisition of KEYper systems in the USA, where we have attained the original manufacturer of specialist “peg-in peg-out” technology.

‘With TrakaMEC, we’re making the upgrade path very easy and attractively priced for dealerships to advance at their own pace.

‘And car dealers can be assured of the mechanical quality and cost-effectiveness, as we manufacture and deliver the full portfolio in-house, with the backing of ASSA ABLOY as the global leader in door-opening solutions.’

TrakaMEC portfolio
Presenting a highly secure mechanical key-management solution, TrakaMEC is available in two options: TrakaMEC Supreme as indicatively, successfully tested to rigorous LPS1175 and EN14450 standards, and TrakaMEC Lite for a simpler and more low-cost solution.

A TrakaMEC Supreme cabinet

Each TrakaMEC Supreme cabinet is built with the highest-quality Union components, including force-resistant, anti-drill, anti-pick and anti-saw BS five-lever mortice deadlocks for extra peace of mind and security.

Additionally, each Supreme cabinet comes with a modern electronic Code Handle® which can be programmed with nine different user codes to improve security.

TrakaMEC Lite is a low-cost and effective key-management solution, designed to meet the needs of dealerships with less stringent security specification demands than TrakaMEC Supreme provides. TrakaMEC Lite cabinets are available with 50-, 100- or 150-key capacity.

As well as two mechanical key solutions, TrakaMEC offers a range of accessories including KEYfobs and USERfobs alongside label seals, mirror hangers and iTags. The aim is to ensure car dealers can individually customise their systems to suit their own requirements now and to futureproof for changing market requirements.

Peace of mind
Paul concluded: ‘TrakaMEC customers can be assured, at an uncertain time, of getting the best of many worlds. They will receive a solution designed, made and supported by Traka; the global leader in access solutions dedicated to satisfying end-user needs for security, safety and convenience.

‘At the same time, they benefit from a highly cost-effective, outstanding quality mechanical product, manufactured in the UK and designed specifically for automotive customers that can be scaleable to suit individual dealership requirements.

‘We’re excited by TrakaMEC’s launch and potential really as a “game-changer” for dealers looking to maximise the potential of the current market.’
