Type Approval closing

Time 6:58 am, August 21, 2008

130707-13-sub.jpgCONSULTATION for changes to the European Whole Vehicle Type Approval system is almost over.

If you want your say on the changes, you have until Friday 22 August to register your comments with the DfT.

New laws could be pushed through as early as April 2009 – which could well affect dealers selling cars requiring type approval.

‘The change in the law from next spring will progressively affect every vehicle type and will mean that, without a Type Approval document, you won’t be able to register a new vehicle’ said an SMMT spokesman.

If you think this may affect you, have your say via the DfT’s website: www.dft.gov.uk/consultations/open/typeapproval
