A Stratstone JLR service centre has been destroyed in a dramatic fire which ripped through the building last night.

Firefighters were called to JLR Tottenham Service Centre at around 10:50pm yesterday evening (Thurs) after smoke was seen billowing from the site.

Crews battled throughout the night to get the blaze under control and have remained at the scene this morning.

Despite their best efforts, specially trained officers were unable to save the service centre and the site was destroyed, along with part of an adjoining building.

There are not believed to have been any injuries and the cause of the blaze remains unclear.

The London Fire Brigade warned there could still be further disruption, amid road closures around the site.

A spokesman for the force said: ‘Firefighters have worked extremely hard through the night to extinguish this fire.

‘The amount of smoke being produced by this fire was significant and we advised people, particularly within the Haringey borough area, to continue to keep their windows and doors.

‘Whilst most of the fire is now out, deep seated pockets of fire remain and we will maintain a presence on site through the morning.

‘Road closures are in place on Watermead Way at the junction of Leeside Road and we anticipate that motorists will face some disruption during the morning rush hour.’

The incident was attended by 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters from Edmonton, Enfield, Tottenham, Chingford, Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations.

Stratstone now it is is in contact with all clients affected working to determine the cause of the fire.
