FORD was once again the clear winner in 2010’s new car registration figures with the Fiesta taking top honours.
103,013 Fiestas were registered during the year, and the car was the best selling new car for the second successive year.
Vauxhall’s Astra finished in second place which clocked up 80,646 registrations in 2010, followed by the Focus with 77,804 units, the Vauxhall Corsa with 77,398 and Volkswagen’s Golf with 58,116 units registered.
December’s registrations saw a different story, however. The Vauxhall Astra was December’s best selling car with the firm shifting 5,377 units, and the Corsa followed in second with 4,737 registered cars.
November’s best-seller – the Ford Fiesta – slipped down to third registering 4,560 cars, with the Mini taking fourth with 4,236 units. The Ford Focus also slipped from third down to fifth registering 3,831 cars.
