Family-run car dealer Thurlow Nunn has wrapped up a deal to buy all sites belonging to rival firm Spirit Motor Group.
The acquisition will see the Cambridgeshire-based outfit take over a pair of Hyundai and MG dealerships in Corby, as well as a further Hyundai site in nearby Northampton.
No job losses are expected as a result of the agreement, which will see staff members kept on and transferred to the new ownership.
Confirming the news, Will Tew, managing director at Thurlow Nunn, said: ‘We are proud to welcome Spirit customers and colleagues into the Thurlow Nunn family.
‘Spirit’s values align perfectly with our own, and we look forward to building on the Derbyshire family’s legacy while offering the additional benefits of our wider network and 150 years of experience.’
Following the acquisition, bosses have promised that there will be no disruption to service and say that customers will transfer ‘seamlessly’ to Thurlow Nunn.
They added that the agreement underlines the group’s commitment to growth as it strengthens its presence in the Northamptonshire region.
Meanwhile, executives at Spirit Motor Group have backed the new ownership group to succeed.
Adam Derbyshire, managing director at Spirit Motor Group, added: ‘Since my father founded Spirit in 1991, our focus has always been on putting customers first and building lasting relationships based on trust.
‘Handing the business over to Thurlow Nunn ensures that our customers and staff are in excellent hands.
‘I am confident that Thurlow Nunn will build on what we have created, while retaining the friendly, professional service that has been at the heart of Spirit for more than 30 years.’
