Family-run business T.C. Harrison has become the latest dealer group to sign up with Omoda and Jaecoo as the Chinese brands continue their rapid UK growth.

The retailer has secured the franchise to represent the duo in Peterborough, where it already runs a successful Ford site.

The new brands will be situated in a dedicated and newly refurbished showroom on the same premises, with the site also retaining the sales, service and repair facilities for the Blue Oval.

The new deal comes shortly after the firm also agreed a franchise agreement with KGM – it’s first new brand partnership in 25 years.

Confirming the news, Billy Fitch, T.C. Harrison motor division director, said: ‘Building on our founder Cuth Harrison’s ethos of innovation, we’re proud to announce the exciting addition of Omoda and Jaecoo to our flagship Peterborough dealership.

‘This will help provide a complete range of excellent value for money vehicles to our customer base in Peterborough which we have served for almost 50 years.’

Bosses will be hoping to make a success of the new partnership after seeing profits fall by more than 50% in its most recent accounts, largely as a result of ‘global events and economic factors’.

Car Dealer visited the firm’s flagship showroom back in 2021, to coincide with the dealer group’s 90th birthday.

Established in 1931, the group specialises in Ford dealerships – Derby and Peterborough being the main sites.

The firm is also the oldest JCB dealer in the world with six sites covering the east side of the UK, from Durham all the way down to Lincoln.
