Trade to trade marketplace Dealerway is celebrating an impressive milestone as one franchised car dealer clocks up more than 150 sales on its site.

The firm said Simpsons Skoda was delighted with the platform’s performance which lets dealers sell their overage stock and part exchanges to a rapidly growing network of buyers.

The Preston-based dealer hit the milestone this month and is already looking forwards to the next landmark.

Shaun Fenna-Johnson, trade disposal manager at Simpsons Skoda, said: ‘Passing 150 cars sold on Dealerway is a big milestone for us.

‘Listings go live in minutes and we start seeing bids straightaway from community-rated buyers. With no selling fees, the numbers stack up and our margin stays in the business.

‘The per-transaction reviews are a real help – they give us confidence in who we are selling to. We’ve built a proper following on Dealerway now, and buyers are notified as soon as we list, which drives quick interest and gets cars sold.

‘The Dealerway team are hands-on as well. They pick up the phone, keep both sides moving and help get the deal over the line. Collections are quick and well organised, so cars are off site fast, freeing up vital space.’

The milestone is testimony to the website and app that launched only a year ago.

Started by used car dealers Scott Sibley, who runs Redgate Lodge, and Steven Douglas, of Really Easy Car Credit, the platform now boasts more than 3,000 approved dealers. Douglas is one of the guest speakers at Car Dealer Live.

Sibley said: ‘Simpsons Skoda hitting 150 cars sold is exactly what Dealerway was built for. When listings are accurate and dealers are community-rated, bids arrive quickly and deals complete efficiently.

‘With no selling fees, more of the money stays in the dealership, and our team are always on hand to keep both sides moving. We are proud to support Simpsons Škoda and look forward to the next 150.’

Earlier this year, the firm stopped charging sellers a fee so it’s completely free to list a vehicle on the trade-only platform – buyers pay a low fee of just £99 on each purchase.

Built off the back of a hugely popular Facebook group, the Dealerway app and website has grown rapidly.

It has also launched a WhatsApp concierge service to make listing on the site as easy as possible.

Dealers simply need to send the registration plate, mileage, a short description, price and photos via WhatsApp and the Dealerway team do the rest.

Standard service hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 10-minute response target, and typical time-to-listing measured in minutes.

The service sits alongside Dealerway’s core proposition, built by car dealers for car dealers, and complements features such as VRM lookup, free MotorChecks and offer/counter-offer tools. Buyer verification and monitoring follow the same standards already in place on Dealerway.
