More than 1000 leads already from What Car? new car buyer marketplace

Time 5:51 pm, December 7, 2016

THE What Car? new car buyer marketplace service has already created more than 1000 high-quality leads for car dealers using the service, despite being launched to the trade only on September 1.

It’s been three months since the service went live, with the full launch to consumers happening in January, and 11,250 live deals are already on offer. This means car dealers already on board have access to 2.5 million unique What Car? monthly visitors local to them.

With one-in-five of these 2.5m unique monthly online visitors actively looking to buy a new car, WhatCar.com is the UK’s largest new-car research website, and the new car buyer marketplace applies the site’s industry-focused approach to the new-car buying process. This means retailers can create long-lasting relationships with customers in their immediate area, while buyers are guaranteed full price transparency through a brand they trust.

New car buyer marketplace was actively launched to the trade in September, with the full consumer promotional campaign set to start in the New Year. Yet already, retailers using the site are seeing very encouraging signs of the service’s success, with hundreds of leads generated up and down the country.

Those retailers currently using the service can offer deals on up to 100 different variants for free until the New Year, when a low monthly subscription fee of £150 per 100 offers comes into effect. As well as the ability to provide ‘live’ deals to consumers, dealerships will also be advertised alongside the relevant WhatCar.com model review page for all customers in their local area.

Early data from new car buyer marketplace reveals the most popular cars searched for and enquired upon through the service, with the new Seat Ateca taking the top spot as the most searched for car in the UK. The top ten most common buyer enquiries to retailers are for:

1. Audi A3
2. Ford Fiesta
3. Seat Ateca
4. Audi Q2
5. Renault Zoe
6. Hyundai i10
7. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
8. Mazda CX-5
9. Nissan Qashqai
10. Nissan Leaf

Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, said: ‘The reaction we’ve had to new car buyer marketplace from retailers up and down the country has been fantastic. Our users have been very positive about the leads delivered to them through the service, and the fact that their dealership is essentially being advertised on the What Car? website to each and every person in their area looking to buy from one of their brands has been a huge draw for them.

‘We’re encouraging more dealers to sign up to the service over the next month while it’s free to use, before we begin our consumer push to car-buyers in the New Year.’
