Daksh Gupta

Daksh Gupta

YESTERDAY I had a call from one of the most forward-thinking bosses in the trade, Marshall’s Daksh Gupta.

He’d recently had a meeting with BEN, the automotive industry charity, about fundraising and had been struck with an idea.

Daksh is planning an industry wide collaboration for dealers in the hope of raising a huge amount of money for the worthwhile charity.

Although the details are a little sketchy at the moment, it has the potential to help BEN out hugely.

Currently car manufacturers donate a pound to the charity every time they sell a new car in an initiative that has run for years. But Daksh wants the dealer network across the UK to step up its work for the charity too.

SUMMIT

He’s planning a fundraising summit in April and he’s inviting us and our rival trade magazine editors along too.

I’m sure my editor colleagues at the other industry publications will agree that charity is a time to put rivalry to one side and club together for the good of the cause.

Car Dealer has been an ardent supporter of BEN since our first issue and have helped raise nearly £18,000 for the charity. If we can lend our support to Daksh’s big idea to help BEN, in what could be a very tough year for the charity, then we’d be delighted to.

And look out for details on Bangers4BEN MKIII soon as we’re planning the event again as we speak – this time it’s going to be even wackier than last time!

We’ll let you know more about Daksh’s plan – and B4B – very soon.
