22.06.10: Want a Ford Fiesta?

Time 4:16 pm, June 22, 2010

sdc13161OUR 911 for 2011 Ford Fiesta is up for sale on classified website Auto Trader – and we’ve been a little bit cheeky.

The car is an absolute peach. Bought trade from our friends at Lifestyle Europe, it’s done a ridiculously low 46k miles, has 12 months MOT, 6 months tax and full service history.

The five-door model has only had two owners and is like new inside (listen to me, sound more and more like a salesman every week).

There are a few scratches on the paintwork, but nothing too major – we plan to call in a favour to get them sorted.

Commercial manager Duncan picked the car up while I was away on holiday and has managed to get it up for sale.

He took some pics down my the beach, penned a decent description, but I’m not sure about the price – he’s put it up for £2,595, which looks a bit rich – but at the end of the day he’s the expert here.

Dunc worked for three years at a franchised Mercedes dealership so knows a bit more than I do about flogging cars – ‘we can always come down,’ he’s assured me.

Considering it’s such a corker, I got to work this morning too. I’ve stuck For Sale signs in three windows and parked it by a church round the corner.

My thinking is, the 02-reg model is perfect for a little old church-goer… If we don’t get any takers we’re going to drop it to a more realistic price then relist it on Auto Trader.

And if that fails to rouse any takers after a couple of weeks we’ll shift it on eBay – it worked a treat for the Golf and Audi and is pretty much guranteed to find a buyer.

At the end of the day, even if we sell it for £2,000 we’ve still doubled our pot of cash for BEN and will be well on the way to that Porsche.

It better come soon too – I’ve already taken to reading specialist mags like Total911 and GT Porsche cover to cover in anticipation of our German friend arriving in time for Christmas.

Well, if we’re lucky it will… anyone want to buy a tidy Fiesta?
