MOTORDEPOT has opened its fifth site in 12 months – with the former Platts Garage in Stoke-on-Trent being taken over by the car supermarket.
The speedy acquisition makes it the 10th site in Motordepot’s portfolio and closely follows the announcement of its Sheffield site last month, which is undergoing significant refurbishment ahead of its autumn opening.
All existing Platts employees have transferred to the Motordepot business on the 3.5-acre site in Lightwood Road, Longton.
Motordepot Stoke opened for business immediately, and work is already under way to bring close to 400 vehicles on site. The team will also have access to more than 3,000 cars in group stock.
Managing director Steve Butterley said: ‘We are all really excited to be bringing our business model to Stoke-on-Trent. It will complement our existing site in Birmingham and strengthen our presence in the wider Midlands area.
‘We recognise how important our people are in securing the success of our business and we are delighted to have retained the existing team as a whole.’
