Motordepot creates 40 jobs as it opens in Barnsley

Time 3 years ago

CAR supermarket group Motordepot has opened a retail site in Barnsley, creating some 40 jobs.

The purpose-built premises just off the M1 at junction 36 on the Dearne Valley Parkway can hold more than 400 vehicles and boasts 75,000 sq ft of internal display space coupled with a state-of-the-art vehicle preparation centre.

Having created around 40 new jobs in the immediate area, the South Yorkshire branch becomes the eighth in Motordepot’s growing portfolio, closely following the  opening of its North Shields branch. The company has existing established sites in Birmingham, Grimsby, Hessle, Hull, Scunthorpe and Worksop.

Managing director Stephen Butterley said: ‘Barnsley is a great place for us, and the opportunity to acquire such a prestigious site reinforces our commitment to accelerate the growth of our brand within the wider Yorkshire region.

‘I’m also really excited about our new team at Barnsley. They’ve all adopted our culture straight away and it’s all about providing our customers with the best buying experience possible in a simple, transparent and ethical way.’
