FIRE broke out at a Hampshire Peugeot dealership over the weekend.
The blaze occurred at Snows Peugeot Basingstoke on Saturday evening, with firefighters called to the scene shortly before 9pm.
Ten vehicles were destroyed – including three private ambulances – but nobody was injured.
The fire occurred outside the building and as it was outside business hours, nobody was on site.
The Environment Agency and local police were informed but foul play has been ruled out.
A spokesman for Snows said that although there may be some minor disruption, customers should visit the business as normal for service, parts and car sales.
The dealership’s Houndmills site is shared with a recently-opened Seat showroom which was unaffected.
A statement from the company said: ‘We’d like to thank the police and fire services for the hard work and prompt actions that has kept our business and community safe.’
A Hampshire Fire & Rescue service spokeswoman said a ‘a very small amount of damage’ had been caused to the dealership building and that crews from Basingstoke and Fleet had used water jets and foam to extinguish the flames. The firefighters were stood down shortly after 11pm.
