TMS Motor Group has bought the Sandicliffe Leicester Kia dealership and kept all the staff on.
The deal – for an undisclosed sum – means that along with the Hinckley Kia dealership that it has operated for seven years, TMS now has two sites selling the South Korean brand.
Earlier this year, the Sandicliffe group announced it was closing its Kia showroom in Melton Mowbray but retaining the one in Leicester.
Last year, TMS bought the Sturgess Volvo dealership in Leicester, as reported by Car Dealer.
TMS managing director Len Hallows said the London Road Kia showroom ‘was a good geographic fit for the group which also operates three Volvo sites in the Midlands’.
He added: ‘We can create economies of scale with a regional business model and Leicester represents a territory with huge potential and is contiguous to our existing Kia site in Hinckley.
‘We very much look forward to working with the existing team in Leicester and I would like to extend a warm welcome to them all.’
