Time 12:36 pm, July 29, 2020

Motorline has won planning permission for a £12m development that will see its Toyota Patchway and Lexus Pioneer Park showrooms in Bristol move to a site on Cribbs Causeway, where they will be joined by a training academy.

Construction on the three-acre greenfield site will begin in October and is estimated to be completed next June.

It will boast a new Toyota Centre plus a dedicated Lexus Centre as well as the academy for the future sales growth and development of Motorline’s training programmes.

Motorline chairman Glen Obee said: ‘The Bristol market is a key territory for the Toyota and Lexus brands, and this investment is testament to our close and long-standing relationship with them and demonstrates our confidence in their hybrid and electric vehicles, along with their ability to deliver the leading green technology vehicles that will arrive in the near future.

‘At a time when many businesses are looking to reduce investment, we are confident and pleased to be investing further with Toyota and Lexus and growing our partnership in this way and continuing to expand our sales volumes and employment in the Bristol area, whilst providing our customers with the very best new facilities to visit and enjoy.’

As well as having the latest Toyota and Lexus retail settings, there will also be a high-tech workshop, with full glazing to the external walls and training facilities, which will focus significantly on electric vehicle and future drivetrain technologies.
