Used car supermarket Carbase has been named the top of its field, taking home a top Used Car Awards accolade.

The group, which operates three car dealerships in Weston-super-Mare, Lympsham and Bristol, was named the Used Car Supermarket of the Year thanks to its top customer care and the attention to detail it takes throughout the sales process.

Carbase excelled in every round of the judging process and mystery shopping, beating hot competition from rival dealerships to take top honours.

In addition to its ‘Used Car Supermarket’ trophy, Carbase was highly commended in the ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ award category and Vanbase Bristol was also shortlisted as one of the top five used commercial vehicle dealerships.

Carbase founder Steve Winter said: ‘We are over the moon to have been named Used Car Supermarket of the Year, and delighted to have been recognised in two other important categories.

‘Carbase is a family-run business and our philosophy is to treat others as we ourselves would like to be treated.

‘With trust, transparency and fairness as the cornerstones of our operation, our customers are happy not only to recommend us, but also to receive the long-term support that we offer. We are thrilled to have done so well.’

James Baggott, editor and founder of Car Dealer Magazine, said: ‘Many congratulations to the team at Carbase.

‘They have triumphed in a category that is always keenly fought so they should feel thrilled by their amazing achievement. It really is something to shout about!’

Awards host and TV presenter Mike Brewer added: ‘It’s no mean feat to win a gong at the Used Car Awards, so the Carbase team should be feeling very proud of their achievements here tonight – it was great to meet the team.

‘Carbase smashed it in the Used Car Supermarket category this year. They ticked every box and got everything right when we researched the business and carried out our mystery shopping.

‘This is a banging result for everyone involved, so very well done to all concerned.’
