THE revamp of an Audi dealership in Cheltenham is set to create 20 new jobs as it nears completion.
The £2million Cheltenham Audi dealership is set to open in January 2014 near Tewkesbury Road and Princess Elizabeth Way.
Work recently begun on demolishing the existing building, which was originally home to both Audi and Harley-Davidson.
The motorcycle dealership moved to a new site along Princess Elizabeth Way in March, while Cheltenham’s Audi has been temporarily based at Parklands Audi on the A40 Northern Bypass in Gloucester since November.
Upon completion of the Cheltenham site, the existing 30 staff at Parklands will move to join the 20 new employees, leaving Gloucester without an Audi dealership.
According to This is Gloucestershire, this is part of a wider reshuffle by the Blade Group in Gloucester, which will also see the Quedgeley-based Honda dealership move to the Parklands A40 Bypass site.
Blade Group spokesman, Alan Knight told This is Gloucestershire: ‘Cheltenham is a great market place for Audi. This is why we are expanding here.
Mike Flanagan, Blade Group managing director, added: ‘The new terminal will offer more showroom space, enabling us to better display the exciting current Audi range.
‘We will be able to offer more demonstrator models, we will have more space for approved used Audis and we will have bigger and even better equipped workshops.’
