AutoVolo makes Waves at Tesco

Time 11:09 am, September 8, 2016

ONLINE automotive marketplace AutoVolo has signed a two-way agreement with Waves – Tesco’s sole supplier of on-site hand car wash services.

With more than 240 sites nationwide, mainly located in prominent areas within Tesco car parks, Waves sites clean an average of 50,000 to 70,000 cars a week and more than 3.5m annually.

Waves customers will be able to take advantage of a £10 saving when advertising their car with AutoVolo, using a unique discount voucher from their local car wash. The first 1,000 customers will also receive an AutoVolo air freshener and branded paper mats.

In return, AutoVolo, which now has 4,000 dealers featuring around 175,000 cars on its classified car portal, will feature an advertising banner for Waves showing the joint promotion on its website. All of the Waves car wash locations will also be listed within a car wash directory on AutoVolo.co.uk.

AutoVolo’s sales director, Stuart Askey, said: ‘This is the first example of the different approach we are taking in building our brand awareness offline, in key locations where motorists frequently visit.

‘The Tesco car parks where Waves are situated collectively have a throughput of more than 5 million shoppers, meaning huge exposure for AutoVolo. We’re excited to be teaming up with Waves, a solid and well-run business that, like us, believes in new ways of thinking.’

Stuart Oakes, commercial manager at Waves, said: ‘When AutoVolo first approached us last year we liked the concept and could see the huge potential it offered ourselves and our franchisees to increase revenues and add value to the customer experience.

‘We’ve also been impressed with the rapid development that AutoVolo has achieved in such a short period of time. We’re confident that this unique offering will be a success for all involved.’
