CAR Dealer Magazine has won a major award for its work raising money for automotive industry charity BEN.
The awards, held at the charity’s Town Thorns care centre on Thursday, saw Car Dealer pick up the Trade Journal of the Year award in recognition of its charitable work during 2010.
Bangers4BEN III, held last year, saw teams from across the motor industry head to Monaco in bangers costing £500 or less.
More recently Car Dealer ran a Bangers4BEN rally to Italy which helped raise nearly £25,000 for the charity.
Meanwhile, our 911 for 2011 feature – which saw us trade up from nothing to a Porsche in aid of BEN – is set to raise more than £10,000. Once we manage to sell the car that is…
BEN said continued awareness of their charity in the magazine and our online mediums meant Car Dealer was a worthy winner of ‘best coverage and support by a trade publication’ during 2010.
BEN chief executive David Main said: ‘We are so grateful to Car Dealer Magazine for their help and support to BEN over the last year. Thanks to Car Dealer, and initiatives such as Dealers Backing BEN, our awareness in the motor trade is increasing, and is helping our finances in the valuable care we provide.’
Editorial director of Car Dealer, James Baggott, added: ‘We’re delighted to win this award. The work BEN does is vital to our motor trade colleagues and I’m pleased our small part in helping to raise money, and awareness, for the charity has been recognised.’
Car Dealer Magazine beat AM and Motor Finance magazine to this year’s award.
