THE BEN Scotland Ball has raised more than £13k for automotive industry charity, it has been announced.
Held on March 5, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow, more than 200 guests enjoyed a four course meal with entertainment provided by Feeva and Special Edition – and in so doing raised the sum of £13k for the charity.
BEN’s chief executive, David Main, said: ‘After a two year hiatus during the recent recession we were delighted by the response to the reinstatement of the BEN Scotland Ball. Events such as this one are vital for BEN as they help ensure our profile remains high and raise funds to help us provide care and support for those in our industries who need it. Our heartfelt thanks to the SMTA for their hard work and support in organising this event.’
Meanwhile, Douglas Robertson, chief executive of the SMTA, said: ‘We were delighted to be involved in the organisation of the BEN Scotland Ball and we were especially pleased at the size of the attendance for this, the first Ball since 2008. We look forward to a further increase in numbers in the years to come now that the Ball is back on the calendar for the Scottish motor trade.’
