Screen shot 2013-10-07 at 09.32.34A CAR showroom and workshop could be demolished and replaced by new homes.

Developers, Freemantle Capital Partners, want to demolish Auto Scuderia and its workshop and replace the site with five three-bedroom and four four-bedroom houses.

Based on Long Ashton Road in Bristol, Auto Scuderia has been trading from this location for more than 40 years since it was first founded in the 1970s.

According to This Is Bristol, if the development is given the go-ahead, three out of six employees will be transferred to the Auto Scuderia garage in Failand.

A planning statement from the applicant says: ‘The premises are in a poor condition and nearing the end of their life in respect to asbestos removal.’

Long Ashton councilor, Bob Cook, said: ‘This is a big planning decision for the village and I will be very interested to see what local residents say. It will be sad to see a business which has traded in Long Ashton for so many years relocate.’
