County Down dealer becomes the latest to join MG network

Time 9:27 am, February 16, 2016

A NORTHERN Ireland car dealer with more than 100 years’ history is the latest to join the MG Motor UK franchise.

T M Martin & Son is a well-known dealership in Killyleagh, County Down. Back in 1907, the family-run business was established as a cycle manufacturer. Since then, the business has been loyal to selling Longbridge-built vehicles; so it seemed fitting for the family to bring in the latest range of MGs.

John Martin, dealer principal, said: ‘We’ve had an association with cars built in Longbridge for many years, so to keep the tradition going we wanted to get MG into our showroom again.

‘I’ve been working for the family business since 1961. We have always prided ourselves on giving our customers the best customer service, for which we have been awarded Masters of Quality many times, and we look forward to extending this to our new customers.’

Matthew Cheyne, MG’s head of sales and marketing, said: ‘We are really pleased to welcome T M Martin & Son to the network; it’s great to welcome a dealer with such a rich history.

‘With this dealer becoming our third in Northern Ireland, we’re glad to see our presence is growing in this area and we hope to do the same with others areas in the UK.’
