SSANGYONG has added four new outlets to its national network and strengthened its franchising team with the appointment of Justin Lamba as dealer recruitment manager.
The new dealerships are Esplanade in Cowes, Isle of Wight; Broach Hill Garage in Driffield, East Yorkshire; Fun Motors, Lower Darwen, Lancashire; and Unity in Tredington, Warwickshire.
Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motor UK, said: ‘The arrival of Rexton and Musso has resulted in significant levels of interest in our franchise from prospective dealers.
‘The huge improvement in the perception of our vehicles means we are engaging with new dealer partners who particularly appreciate our straightforward business model and focus on dealer profitability.’
Justin Lamba was formerly the brand’s dealer commercial manager for south-east England and has previous sales, business development and customer-support experience with a number of automotive companies such as DaimlerChrysler, Daihatsu and Mondial Assistance.
David Rose, head of franchising for SsangYong, said: ‘I’m delighted Justin has joined the franchising team. After a year of consolidating the business, we are strengthening the management team to manage future growth.
‘We want to make it easy for dealers to acquire and operate the franchise, and have removed the barriers to ensure representing our brand is highly appealing.’
SsangYong is looking for dealers in a number of locations. Current open points include Birmingham (north), Bristol, Inverness, Liverpool, Oxford and Portsmouth.
