Time 4:19 pm, January 26, 2012

IMN_HARRATTS_KIA_05HARRATTS has won the Kia franchise for Wakefield and is planning to move into a dedicated showroom next month.

The firm, which operates a network of dealerships across Yorkshire, said the temporary base for Kia Wakefield on Barnsley Road opens for business today.

The group now represents seven different manufacturers (Volvo, Honda, Renault, Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan and Kia) and has reported unprecedented growth in 2011.

The new Kia dealership – which will create 10 jobs – will complement Harratts’ existing Volvo Dealership on Barnsley Road in the town.

Dealer principal of the new franchise will be Gareth Bottomley, pictured, who oversees multiple dealerships within the Harratts Group.

Shaun Harratt, managing director of Harratts, said: ‘We’re delighted to announce the latest manufacturer to join our ranks as the business continues to expand.

‘We’ve been monitoring Kia’s recent growth and are delighted to have been offered the opportunity to represent this exciting franchise in the Wakefield area.

‘The continued demand for the Kia brand has made the opening of this dealership an exciting prospect indeed and we look forward to welcoming customers to the dealership over the coming weeks and months.’
